St. Mary of Egypt Convent is located near Kampala, Uganda. Established in 2001, under the Patriarchate of Alexandria, the convent is currently home to three sisters, and five novices, all native Ugandans. Through activities such as iconography, hand crafts, sewing, table wine, and gardening, the sisters are working to sustain the needs of the young monastery as well as the orphan children who make the convent their home.
