The OCYNU team and the regional task force managers have today begun the distributed of relief food to the members most affected by the lockdown around all regions of the Uganda. OCYNU will be officially kicking off an exercise that will provide relief in form of food to Orthodox vulnerable youth in Kampala, Jinja, Fort portal, Kumi, Nakabaale, Luweero and Wakiso affected by the corona virus Lockdown, on 12/07/2021.

The focus will be ensuring that the vulnerable youth, elderly, orphans, sick and those who live hand to mouth but were affected by the Lock down are taken into account.

According to the program, each person will be given 5kg of maize flour, 3kg of beans and a washable mask.

We call upon all Orthodox Christians to support each other in this corona virus lockdown and to also donate to OCYNU Taskforces.

Meanwhile, we also encourage our fellow youth to abide with government orders to stay indoors and keep sanitation. To those in areas which are less affected by the Pandemic, mostly in villages please engage yourselves in commercial agriculture.
