The village of Mobe is located on a quiet corner of the Iriga district. The landscape is enchanting. A village planted in the forest, at the foot of a mountain whose granite rocks rise after the last houses.
The villagers embraced Orthodoxy and received Holy Baptism in recent weeks at our Missionary Center. In their picturesque village there is no sacred temple and the road that leads there is impassable. It passes through rivers and cliffs. This situation, however, did not discourage the newly enlightened inhabitants. With love and passion they built their own Church, made of straw and wood. A priest of the Diocese goes there to perform the Divine Liturgy.
We went to this 'palace' today at the invitation of the residents. In this humble straw hut, in this unknown corner of the world, the Holy Spirit descended today and sanctified the Holy Gifts and nested in the humble souls of the newly illuminated souls. Unique moments that one can experience only here, in Africa. At the dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, the Most Reverend Bishop of Arusha and Central Tanzania, Mr. Agathonikos, spoke to the faithful about the Holy Cross, while expressing his gratitude for their kind invitation and promising that in the near future the village of Mobe will acquire its own temple. The joy of the inhabitants was evident on their faces! Immediately, discussions began about the place where their temple would be built.
At the end, a meal was served for the health of our sister Evangelia, where we all ate together and the faithful had the opportunity to talk in person with their Bishop.
